About Sheriff Michael Bouchard

On January 11, 1999, Michael Bouchard accepted the appointment as successor to John F. Nichols who passed away suddenly. In November of 2020, Sheriff Bouchard was returned to Office for the sixth time. Sheriff Bouchard is a past president of Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA) and is currently the Vice President – Government Affairs for this prestigious organization.

Sheriff Bouchard is a devoted sportsman and enjoys restoring older vehicles, including a 1963 M-37 Military Dodge Power Wagon. He and his wife, Pam, are proud to have three children, Mikayla, Michael, and Jacob. Two of his children serve as Reserve Deputies. He also has care of Max Justice Broock, a donated King Charles Cavalier who serves in the Sheriff’s Office Therapy Dog program. Sheriff Bouchard graduated with high honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Police Administration. He is also a graduate of the United States Secret Service Dignitary Protection Program and the FBI National Executive Institute Program.
